Dear ABMInsider,
We’ve developed a bit of a reputation over the years for our innovative awards programs. It works for us: it’s an efficient way to highlight a lot of companies/organizations in each issue, readers love lists – and we find it motivates other businesses and individuals to up their game, which makes it a win-win for the entire region.
From Atlantic Canada’s Top 50 CEOs to the 25 Most Powerful Women in Business to the Best Places to Work, people look forward to our lists every year. So much so that they are most popular and well-read content of the year.

Today, I’m excited to announce we are adding another program to our editorial calendar: Atlantic Business Magazine’s inaugural ECOlogical Awards, an initiative recognizing green leaders in Atlantic Canada’s resource development industries.
There are seven entry categories: marine, land-based, circular economy, greenhouse gas reduction, eco-construction, green manufacturing and (my personal favorite), Ecopreneur of the Year.
Nominations close April 1, 2026 and winners will be profiled in our September/October edition (print and digital platforms). They will also be provided with exclusive digital branding tools for marketing purposes, such as promotional materials, email signatures, websites and more.
Do you think it will have the longevity of the Top 50 (now in its 28th year)? Do we have enough eco-leaders in the region to make it worthwhile?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on our newest program.
